Thanks Mom!

“She is strong and graceful, as well as cheerful about the future. 26 Her words are sensible, and her advice is thoughtful. 27 She takes good care of her family and is never lazy. 28 Her children praise her, and with great pride her husband says, 29 “There are many good women, but you are the best!” 30 Charm can be deceiving, and beauty fades away, but a woman who honors the Lord deserves to be praised.” Proverbs 31:25-30

During the month of May, we greet the wonderful spring weather along with the flowers which are beginning to bloom. One of the many special celebrations that happen in May is honoring that special woman in all of our lives, our mothers. The bond that is created between a mother and her child is remarkable and like no other bond. God created this special bond for a special reason and that reason human beings will never truly be able to explain.

Over the years my own mother did more for me than I have time and space to write about. “Thank you” were two words I probably didn’t say enough and “I love you” were three words I couldn’t tell her enough. My mother was my own gift from God, He handpicked her especially for me, and he did the same for all of you. One day is all a mother is given to be appreciated for doing all she does every hour of every day. Take the time to celebrate all the mothers in your life, it is the one day that we selected to make them feel special. We wish our mothers could be with us forever, but that is just not the way things are supposed to be. For that reason, we must cherish our mothers more than one day a year; we need to cherish every precious moment God has given us with our mothers. We give our thanks and praise, and pray for all the mothers in our lives, congregation and all over the world. Thank you for giving us life, love, encouragement and for all the sacrificing you do for us.

Join us on May 21 as we celebrate Mothers!
