WELCOME PASTOR BRIAN A. MCCLINTON

Pastor Brian McClinton was born in Newark, NJ, and studied liberal arts at the Newark School of Performing Arts. He continued his education at Gettysburg College as a double major in Musical Theater and Psychology. He then pursued his studies toward ministry at the Gettysburg Lutheran Theological Seminary, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree. His first call began in Beaver Dam, WI, as an Associate Pastor at the First Lutheran Church. His second call was as Associate Pastor at St. Paul’s...

LUNCH BUNCH

Seven people showed up for a great lunch at Ledo’s on Tuesday, January 17th. We had diverse choices for lunch of soup and salad, pizza, and subs. The prices were great. Best of all was the company! BOY SCOUT UPDATE

Boy Scout Troop 26 Update St. Mark’s has chartered Troop 26 for about 60 years and has been honored with many Eagle scouts and many scouts who attended Sinoquipe Scout Reservation during that time. The troop currently has 3 scouts who are very close to earning their Eagle status. However, Troop 26 requires re-chartering and due to insurance liability issues, St. Mark’s is unable to assist. SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING

ANNUAL CHURCH PICNIC POSTPONED DUE TO COVID

Due to the increase in the Covid positivity rate, the Covid Task Force and Church Council have recommended postponing the Annual Church Picnic, scheduled for this Sunday, October 3 at Doub Woods until April. The safety of our members and friends is of upmost importance.

CHOIRS ARE BACK

Chancel Choir and Chorister Choir FINALLY, after a way-too-long hiatus - thanks to COVID! - we're going to try to resume choir rehearsals. Mostly due to health or scheduling issues, our choirs have become rather small, so we could really use some more singers. So please consider joining us, or at least come and try it out. All are welcome! Contact Kathy at 301-733- 4090. Here's the plan: CHANCEL CHOIR (Adults) will begin rehearsals on Thursday, Sept. 2 from 4:00-5:00 in the Sanctuary every week

THE QUILTERS HAVE RETURNED

The quilters are meeting again every Tuesday from 9:15-11:30. The quilts are for the Lutheran World Relief Mission and are given to babies, locally to CASA , and to those who need them all over the world. “We have a lot of fun making quilts.” If you would like to try it out, no sewing abilities are needed to have fun and “help blanket the world with love.” For more information, call Sandy at 301-302- 7419.
