RETURNING TO IN PERSON WORSHIP
Friends in Christ, the promise of reopening our church building, to in-person gatherings, brings with it the joyful anticipation of coming back together AND the sober duty of being prepared to do so safely. To that end, Church Council has formed a Reopening Task Force to prepare a thoughtful plan to address these important issues and questions with clarity. Members of this group are: Pastor Stan, Pat Kelley, Kathy Barr, Sue Kessler, Elaine Rose, Steve Elsen and Frank Forrest. There have been 2 meetings thus far and a plan is being developed, taking into account the personal safety of our staff and members who are most at risk as we discern our readiness to open. As per our Governor’s plan and guidelines for corporate worship published by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and the Delaware-Maryland Synod, we have set a TENTATIVE date of June 21, 2020. There are still a number of facets to be initiated and church council must approve the plan. Once the plan has been approved, steps will be taken to notify all members in detail of the guidelines that have been accepted. As per the Governor’s plan, attendance is limited to 50% of the available seating. Social media, our website and a letter detailing what to expect will be used to get the word out. For now, your patience and prayers are appreciated.
