Have You Hugged Your Mother Today ?

There’s no gift more precious from God to a son or daughter than having a godly mother (Proverbs 31:25-28). For over fifty-five years, this writer was blessed with having a godly mother who greatly influenced my life for good.

A Time of New Beginnings

Springtime is a season of new beginnings, especially as we continue to celebrate new life following Easter. But in a lot of ways, spring is also about endings. With school projects and papers due, graduations looming, final exams to take, and end-of-year concerts and tournaments, you can get weighed down. Sometimes it is hard to find your inspiration, that spark that makes you feel like the next project or task is worth completing, rehearsing or studying. You have what it takes inside of you to...

Ash Wednesday’s “remember that you are dust” message speaks to the brevity and impermanence of life, and the weight one's relationship with God carries in comparison. “Who Am I” balances those concepts so perfectly:

What is Lent?

Has anyone ever asked you this question? Can you answer it? There are many seasons, services, scriptures, stories in our church that are often misunderstood, or maybe just not understood enough to be able to answer questions posed by another. We often assume that our message is clear but we should not take for granted that everyone possesses the same amount of knowledge regarding the Lutheran faith or even the Bible.

What is Advent?

The Church divides the year into different seasons that emphasize the life of Christ and the life of the Church. Beginning on Sunday November 27th, 2016, we will enter the season of the Church year called Advent.
