Our Calling...

Passing on our faith to the next generation is one of our highest callings. This is made very clear in several psalms, including Psalms 102 and 145, and especially Psalm 78. Unfortunately, we Christians haven’t always done this well. To Preach It Is To Live It … I am a preacher, a term I have never preferred but which I cannot deny. I preach anywhere from two to six times a week during the year so I am a preacher. As a preacher I sometimes wonder if anyone is really listening, if the words register and then I am confronted by the fact that indeed some do listen and one of those who always listens is none other than the one I attempt to preach about, Jesus!! This Sunday, June 26, 2016, we will bless 138 quilts made by St. Mark's Quilters this past year. They made 128 standard size quilts and 10 baby quilts. Our quilters meet each Tuesday morning to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. The time and work given to this outreach is an offering from the heart from each of these wonderful, faith-filled women.
