WELCOME PASTOR BRIAN A. MCCLINTON
Pastor Brian McClinton was born in Newark, NJ, and studied liberal arts at the Newark School of Performing Arts. He continued his education at Gettysburg College as a double major in Musical Theater and Psychology. He then pursued his studies toward ministry at the Gettysburg Lutheran Theological Seminary, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree. His first call began in Beaver Dam, WI, as an Associate Pastor at the First Lutheran Church. His second call was as Associate Pastor at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in York, PA. His most recent call was Lead Clergy at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Windsor Park, PA. In addition to this call, he has served as visiting professor at Gettysburg Seminary and motivational speaker for youth ministry events throughout the country. He is currently working on his Doctor of Ministry degree at United Lutheran Seminary, focusing on hymnody.
As a classically trained vocalist, he has performed in several community theater musicals, as well as being soloist for many occasions and concerts. He is an avid reader, freelance musician, and composer. An opera lover, he often travels to New York to see the Metropolitan Opera productions. He is also a fan of collegiate football and NFL football.
He is married to Megan Reynolds McClinton and they have one daughter, Katelyn. Megan is a Deaconess in the ELCA and church musician, having recently accepted the position of Minister of Music at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hagerstown. Katelyn is studying at Shenandoah University toward a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Violin Performance. She also performs recitals for the community.
Pastor Brian will begin his ministry at St. Mark’s on April 1st and his first Worship Service will be on Palm Sunday.
